Kia Ora, Welcome to Nurturing Hearts

Nau mai, haere mai ki a Nurturing Hearts.

Our name represents who we are and want to be. We look after the hearts of our tamariki, whanau and team. Our name is important to us and speaks to our philosophy.

We believe a learning environment needs to be underpinned with love and kindness. Ours is an environment where children know they are loved, safe and nurtured, and they are free to explore, enquire, and learn. We are a small centre, where respect and relationships in our close community are important.

Our children learn at their own pace, through their interests and creativity, engaging with an environment we set up for them based on our knowledge of who they are, how they learn and what they are interested in.

This is what makes a childhood memorable and gives a lifetime of learning the opportunity take root and be enjoyed.

About us

We moved house 30 mins away from Nurturing Hearts. We had planned to move our son to a local day-care to avoid Auckland traffic. However, as the day approached, we had a powerful change of heart and decided to stay at Nurturing Hearts, and with that committing to a couple of years of long drives! Our reasons were simple yet so important - unbreakable bonds at Nurturing Hearts, with the children and the staff. The reassurance we feel daily, that he is being well loved and cared for is priceless. He is happy and flourishing and Nurturing Hearts has a big part to play in this!

Warm, friendly and supportive are a few words that come to mind when describing the vibe of the centre. It has a real Whanau feel to it and all the Kaitiaki feel like an extension of our family. The extra time and effort put in place to meet my son’s extra requirements have not gone unnoticed . From day one I have felt very relaxed leaving my child here . 100 per cent recommend !!

Tanith

Beautiful facility with amazing teachers who are all very passionate. They have a very gentle approach and a real focus on relationships and communication. My daughter loves her time there!

Gabrielle

After thirty years teaching, leading and managing in ECE, I have seen a lot of centres and worked through a lot of scenarios. Nurturing Hearts gives me peace, every time I visit.

It delights me that when I visit, request information, check in, the needs of the tamariki are always a head of mine! This is why the tamariki are so well settled and content. The children come first.

Why Nurturing Hearts

We whole heartedly believe that our approach to love, care, supporting engagement, interaction, interest, curiosity and an excitement in learning through the world around us gives children in their early years the start in life they need to navigate the future they want.

Young children don't want or need the latest 'must have'. They want and need relationships that support them to explore, create and imagine in a world that's right for them. That's what we encourage here.

At Nurturing Hearts, the relationship is all.
