Our name represents who we are and want to be. We look after the hearts of our tamariki, whanau and team. Our name is important to us and speaks to our philosophy.

We believe a learning environment needs to be underpinned with love and kindness. Our early learning centre is an environment where children know they are loved, safe and nurtured, and they are free to explore, enquire, and learn. We are a small daycare, where respect and relationships in our close community are important.

Our children learn at their own pace, through their interests and creativity, engaging with an early learning environment we set up for them based on our knowledge of who they are, how they learn and what they are interested in.

This is what makes a childhood memorable and gives a lifetime of learning the opportunity take root and be enjoyed.

About us

We moved house 30 mins away from Nurturing Hearts. We had planned to move our son to a local day-care to avoid Auckland traffic. However, as the day approached, we had a powerful change of heart and decided to stay at Nurturing Hearts, and with that committing to a couple of years of long drives! Our reasons were simple yet so important - unbreakable bonds at Nurturing Hearts, with the children and the staff. The reassurance we feel daily, that he is being well loved and cared for is priceless. He is happy and flourishing and Nurturing Hearts has a big part to play in this!

Warm, friendly and supportive are a few words that come to mind when describing the vibe of the centre. It has a real Whanau feel to it and all the Kaitiaki feel like an extension of our family. The extra time and effort put in place to meet my son’s extra requirements have not gone unnoticed . From day one I have felt very relaxed leaving my child here . 100 per cent recommend !!

Why Nurturing Hearts Childcare

Teina Room

Home room to our Teina tamariki, our infants and toddlers. A slower pace, with more care routines and calm. A sense of adventure often see them visiting the Tuakana space too.

Tuakana Room

Home to our Tuakana tamariki, our preschool group, aged 3 to 5 years. Here, we foster self help, independence, confidence and a view of themselves as life long learners and role models to our younger tamariki.

Tuakana Teina Outdoors

Our beautiful outdoors where the concepts of tuakana - teina come alive, this means older children look after younger children and our kaitiaki provide an outdoor environment rich in aroha, enquiry, exploration and sustainability. We have a joint engagement outdoor area and we also have a special space for our smaller pepe to explore and learn to move, knowing they will be safe.
